The Board of Trustees defines school councils as collective associations of parents/guardians, teachers, principals, staff, students and community representatives who seek to work together to promote the well-being and effectiveness of the entire school community and thereby to enhance student learning. A school council is a means to facilitate co-operation among all concerned participants in the local school.
School councils provide valuable advisory assistance to the school principal and to the Board of Trustees. Parents are encouraged to attend school council meetings.
