Other important events throughout the school year include:

School Open Houses
Dates for open houses are set by each school. To find out more information, please contact your child’s school.

Parent/Teacher Interviews
Parent/teacher interviews provide an opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher. Each school determines their own dates for parent/teacher interviews, usually shortly after report cards are distributed. Please call your child’s school to find out the dates for interviews.

Report Cards
Report cards are distributed three or four times per year, depending on the school. For the specific date reports are sent out, please call your child’s school directly.

Achievement Tests
Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) are held at the schools each year for grades 3, 6 and 9 in the core subjects. For more information about these tests, which are mandated by Alberta Education, click here.

Diploma Exams
Diploma Exams are conducted by Alberta Education three times per year (January, June and August). For more information about diploma exams, schedules, procedures, tips and sample exams from previous years, visit Alberta Education.
