Sturgeon Public Schools offers specialized pre-kindergarten programs for children between the ages of 2 years, 8 months and 4 years, 7 months as of September 1st. Screening is required for all programs.
Children accepted into Pre-Kindergarten must meet qualifications determined by Alberta Education. Children are assessed at screening sessions, which take place at our schools in spring.
Children with mild/moderate needs, or those who have advanced cognitive skills are eligible to attend in the year prior to Kindergarten. Those children who qualify for Program Unit Funding (PUF) may be eligible for two years of Pre-Kindergarten programming based on age of entry.
