All school jurisdictions in Alberta were required to establish a schedule of school fees that may be charged. The per-student fee amounts as reviewed by the Board of Trustees and approved by the Minister of Education. Please refer to your Schools' website for specific school fees.
At the direction of the Board of Trustees, the Division is waiving the 2020-2021 Complementary Learning Resources Fees for all Sturgeon Public School families.
Individual school fees for students will be posted on the PowerSchool Parent Portal early in the school year. As soon as fees are posted, they can be paid online using the portal. Please note, additional fees may be added throughout the year as your child takes part in various activities and/or options (one example may be athletic team fees). Please check the PowerSchool Parent Portal on a regular basis to ensure all applicable fees have been paid.
The fees listed on individual fee schedules are maximum yearly amounts that may be charged and not all are due in advance. Certain fees, such as field trip fees, will be charged on an individual basis as each field trip occurs and not as a lump sum. As well, there are amounts listed on the schedules that may not be incurred by each family based on student enrollments and individual choices.
If you are unable to pay your student fees, you can apply to have certain fees waived. For further information and an application form, please see here or contact your school’s principal.
To reduce time and paper waste, school fees can be paid online. Parents of returning students can pay their children’s fees through their existing PowerSchool Parent Portal account.
New students must first be registered at their school. Once the child is registered, a Parent Portal account will be created. More about new student registration.
