On May 4, Sturgeon Public Schools proudly hosted the sixth annual STEAM Games, bringing together bright young minds from Grades 1 through 9 for a day of discovery, innovation, and collaboration. This year’s theme, “An Aquatic Adventure,” set the stage for a sea of creativity and exploration across the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).
A Day of Discovery and Teamwork
The atmosphere was electric as students from across the division gathered to tackle challenges that tested their imagination, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. From engineering underwater structures to crafting sea-themed art and tackling science-based problem-solving activities, the event was packed with opportunities for hands-on learning. Participants worked in teams to conquer a variety of tasks, each designed to align with the aquatic theme. Along the way, students developed important collaborative skills and showcased the kind of curiosity and innovation that STEAM education is all about.
Inspired by Innovation
The STEAM Games are more than just a fun day of activities—they are a chance for students to step into the shoes of scientists, engineers, and artists. This year's theme encouraged participants to think about the mysteries and marvels of our aquatic world, all while nurturing a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.
The event also emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary learning, showing students how the different STEAM subjects connect and apply to real-world contexts.
Thank You to Our Community
An event of this scale wouldn’t be possible without the support of our incredible educators, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Thank you to everyone who played a role in bringing the 2025 STEAM Games to life! Your dedication helps spark passion and possibility in our students year after year.
As the waves settle on this year’s Aquatic Adventure, we already look forward to what’s in store for the next STEAM Games—where creativity, collaboration, and curiosity will once again take center stage.
