Current Students

IMPORTANT: Registration is available only through the PowerSchool SIS website. This feature is not available on the PowerSchool SIS mobile app.

  • Log in to your Parent Portal Account. Firefox is the preferred browser. Internet Explorer is not supported.
  • Select your child by clicking their name in the blue banner at the top left hand side of the screen.
  • From the left side menu, click on Registration Confirmation.

  • Note: if you do not see this option, registration for the upcoming year has not yet begun.
  • Confirm that the school name displayed at the top of the page is where you wish to register your child for the upcoming year. If this is not correct, call your child's current school to update.

  • Enter your name in the signature field. This acts as a digital signature and is legally binding.
  • When ready, click Submit My Response. Alternatively, there is a Cancel and Go Back button.
  • If there are changes required after submission, please contact your child's current school to update.

PLEASE NOTE: After submitting your responses, you will see **Corrections Requested in every field, even if you did not make any corrections in that field. The fields with corrections will show your newly inputted information underneath.

  • For Transportation information, please visit the New Riders Registration page and fill out an Online Application form.

Parent Portal

Create a PowerSchool SIS Parent Portal Account

  • Log in to PowerSchool SIS from any Sturgeon School Division website by clicking the icon found in the top right hand corner.
  • Select Parents, and then Log in to PowerSchool.
  • Alternatively, you can type the following into your web browser: sps.powerschool.com
  • Select the Create an Account tab and then click Create Account.
  • Enter your information:

  • Enter your child's information, and repeat for as many students as you have:

NOTE: To link students to your account, you must have the Access ID and Access Password for that child. This information is provided by your child’s school. If you do not have this, please contact the school directly.

  • When you have entered information for all students you wish to add, click Enter.
  • Check your email for a link to verify your account.
  • Click the link within the email to validate your account, and then sign in with the credentials you just created.

You now have access to your PowerSchool SIS Parent Portal!
If you have any further questions, your child's school will be happy to assist you further.

Reset a Forgotten Password or Username

  • Fill in the information requested. The email address you enter must match the email address associated with your account. 
  • You will then receive an email with a link to reset your password and/or choose a new username.
  • NOTE: If you do not receive an email, please check your junk mail folder.

If you do not receive a password reset email, your child's school will be happy to assist you further.

 

Fees & Forms

Complete a Form via the PowerSchool SIS Parent Portal

IMPORTANT: Forms are available only through the PowerSchool SIS website. This feature is not available on the PowerSchool SIS mobile app.

  • Log in to your Parent Portal Account. Firefox is the preferred browser. Internet Explorer is not supported.
  • Select Student Fees and Forms.
  • Select your child's name in the top banner.
  • Scroll down to New Items  and select the item that corresponds to the form you wish to complete, for example, Off-Site Activities Annual Consent Form:

  • Fill out all required fields, then digitally sign your name in the signature field.
  • Review the data you have entered and agreed to. If you consent, click Submit.
  • A copy of the form will be emailed to you.
  • When you are done, be sure to log out by clicking the Menu icon, and then clicking Sign Out.

    If you have any questions or encounter any problems when completing forms, do not hesitate to contact your child's school.

Pay Fees via PowerSchool SIS - Full or Partial Payment

IMPORTANT: Fee payment is available only through the PowerSchool SIS website. This feature is not available on the PowerSchool SIS mobile app.

  • Log in to your Parent Portal Account. Firefox is the preferred browser. Internet Explorer is not supported.
  • Click on Student Fees and Forms. This will open a new window.
  • You will see a list of all students linked to your parent portal account, and a summary of any outstanding fees.
  • Clicking on a specific student will display fees that are Due Now, any Future Charges, and a list of your previously paid fees for that student.
  • Click to add the fees you wish to pay to your account.

Add Fees to Cart

  • When ready, click on the cart icon to proceed with payment.
  • A partial payment option is always available. To do this, click on Partial Payment to adjust the amount you wish to pay today.

  • To adjust the amount you wish to pay, click into the green total box, and enter the desired amount.   If you have fees at multiple schools, you will edit each school's total individually.
  • Click Return to Checkout to proceed with payment.
  • When you are done, be sure to log out by clicking the Menu icon, and then clicking Sign Out.

NOTE: This does not schedule future payments. You will need to log in and process a payment each time you wish to do so.

 

Purchasing a Chromebook

Sturgeon Public Schools is pleased to offer HP Chromebooks for sale.  These are the same devices that are used by the Division within each of our schools.

Chromebooks can be purchased with or without a service plan:

Basic Basic Plus Service
  • Chromebook purchase only.
  • Three year limited warranty, no accidental incident coverage.
  • Warranty and repairs are handled solely by the purchaser.
  • Cannot upgrade to Basic Plus Service plan after purchase.
  • Can be equipped to include the apps and programs often used at the schools, or left untouched.
  • Chromebook plus service plan.
  • Three year limited warranty, no accidental incident coverage.
  • Warranty and repairs are handled by Technology Services.
  • Can be equipped to include the apps and programs often used at the schools, or left untouched.
  • Loaner Chromebook provided while repairs are made. (*Dependent on availability.)

  • Select Student Fees and Forms. This will open a new window.
  • Select a child's name in the top banner.
  • Scroll Down to New Items and select the Chromebook option you wish to purchase.
  • Click Add to Cart

  • The item is now in your cart. If you wish to remove it,  click on the red circle "-" button on the right hand side.

  • Click on the cart icon in the top right corner to proceed with payment.
  • NOTE: Partial payments are not an option for Chromebook purchases.
  • Click Submit Payment.
  • You will be contacted when your Chromebook is ready for pickup either at Central Office or at your child's school.

Set up a Monthly Payment Plan for Transportation Fees

IMPORTANT: Fee payment is available only through the PowerSchool SIS website. This feature is not available on the PowerSchool SIS mobile app.

  • Log in to your Parent Portal Account from a web browser. Firefox is the preferred browser. Internet Explorer is not supported.
  • Select Student Fees and Forms. This will open a new window.
  • Select your child's name in the top banner.
  • Click the In Cart checkbox to add the transportation fees to your cart. If you have multiple children with transportation fees owing, you will need to click on each name in the banner and add each child's fees to the cart.
  • When ready, click the cart icon in the top right corner to proceed with payment.
  • From the cart page, click on the Payment Plan button to schedule monthly payments.

Payment Plan

  • NOTE: To create a payment plan, you must have a saved payment method on file. Click Manage Saved Cards to add or edit your payment information.
  • A payment plan of 10 equal payments will be auto-selected. (This is pro-rated if you have joined partway through the year.)

  • A breakdown of the monthly payment amount and the date of withdrawal will be displayed. To agree to the terms and complete setup, click Create Plan.

  •  Your payment plan is now created! Plan items will be automatically charged to your saved method of payment when due.

  • When you are done, be sure to log out by clicking the Menu icon, and then clicking Sign Out.
